Until the end of the world – finally

14 January 1992   Until the End of the World ticket

Today I met up with Isabelle (who is half American and half French and so, after leaving Prague, she came here to visit her family before going back to school in America) and we saw "Jusqu’au Bout du Monde" ("Until the End of the World"), a film which was so beautiful and inspiring that I am trying to figure out how to find an inexpensive video camera and pay for it slowly by way of credit card. We’ll see. It was about a woman who follows this guy around the world and he is collecting images with this special camera that a blind person can see. She also had a small video camera with which she collects images. The whole thing takes place in 1999. At the end they start being able to record and view their own dreams, but they get addicted to the images. There is a lot of beautiful video work used here. The woman’s ex-boyfriend saves her and he’s the one who tells the story. It was so great and so beautiful. It was the most incredible movie that I’ve seen in a while, even with Night on Earth and Paris, Texas and such. It was just an incredible story and it was incredibly beautiful visually. The soundtrack was great too. It makes me not want to see movies for a while so I can relish it longer!
