Last Tango in Paris

24 Oct 1991

We went to the Pyramid Cinema again. And we saw Last Tango in Paris. It was a crazy movie. The experience was quite weird. When we first sat down, we could tell immediately that the lady sitting next to Dan was a little insane. She was making sandwiches and she had a blanket, but she was also just weird. Then this guy came out, before the film started, and talked about the film. He was kind of reading this paper on it. We couldn’t understand most of what he was saying, of course, but I think it probably would have been really interesting if we could. The woman next to us, however, didn’t think so and, where everyone else (the huge theater was packed) just seemed to get a little restless, she took the opportunity of one of his pauses to yell (in Czech), "That’s enough," and then she harassed him a bit. He answered her, at first, but then he threw down his microphone and stormed off! It was very abrupt.
