Alberto Giacometti

28 January 1992

We went to see an exhibit of Alberto Giacometti at the Musee d’art Moderne de la ville de Paris. The exhibit was great (and big, of course) and I didn’t know Giacometti very well, so it was neat because I didn’t know what to expect. A lot of it was sculpture. Most of it, actually. Once again, I think this was another example of an exhibit that was a bit too extensive. I don’t know why people think that an exhibit has to be everything you can possibly get your hands on by a certain artist. ticket to Giacometti exhibit
Giacometti sculpture From an article in Newsweek on the exhibit. It’s a little weird in this flat, black & white xerox, but it’s also a little strange in life size, color metal! (Most likely, it was quite large).
